
When you rent the Caroline Retreat, rental includes FREE use of two gas golf carts. The four seat Yamaha has a golf club holder for up to two sets of clubs. The two seat Club Car has easy open/close solid doors for those cool or rainy days. The keys are located on the kitchen counter. Golf cart drivers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license. Driver and passengers must follow all rules for operating golf carts in The Villages and on public roads, including use of seat belts when not on a golf course. The speed limit is 19mph unless posted otherwise (e.g. the speed limit is 10mph crossing the bridge going into Sumter Landing). Drivers and passengers assume own risk and are responsible for any tickets of fines. Users are also responsible for all damages that occur to the cart, others and yourself.
Golf Cart Operation
- After inserting the key and turning on, the cart can be put in forward or reverse by switching the lever located below, and in between the driver and passenger seats. When in reverse, the cart will beep continuously.
- Blinkers must be turned off manually – they don’t turn off automatically like your car signals. The blinker arrow will be visible on the side mirrors.
- When stopping and getting out of the cart, press the top of the brake to engage the parking brake. You will hear a click when it is engaged.
- If the golf cart(s) is used during your stay, you are responsible for refilling the gas tank. Both carts takes regular unleaded gas. You can either drive the cart to a gas station, or fill using the red gas can located in the garage. Please refill the can if you use it. The golf cart gas tanks are located under the front seat.


Yamaha Cart - Wind and Rain Enclosure
The Yamaha golf cart comes with a rain enclosure for cold, windy or rainy weather. The enclosure has a zipper and buckles to secure shut. Directions on how to roll up and secure the enclosure when done are shown in the video below.
Club Car - Wind and Rain Enclosure
The Club Car golf cart comes has sliding doors for cold, windy or rainy weather. Both the drivers side and passenger side doors slide open and closed. Each door has two sections, a top section and bottom section that can be closed individually or together.
