2022 Golf Cart

A 2022 four seat golf cart is provided FREE during your stay at the Roanoke Retreat.  The key is provided on the kitchen counter.  Golf cart drivers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.  Driver and passengers must follow all rules for operating golf carts in The Villages and on public roads, including use of seat belts when not on a golf course.  The speed limit is 19mph unless posted otherwise (e.g. the speed limit is 10mph crossing the bridge going into Sumter Landing).  Drivers and passengers assume own risk and are responsible for any tickets of fines.  Users are also responsible for all damages that occur to the cart, others and yourself.

Golf Cart Operation.

  • After inserting the key and turning on, the cart can be put in forward or reverse by switching the lever located below, and in between the driver and passenger seats.  When in reverse, the cart will beep continuously.  This cart may be different than those you may have driven.  Prior to pressing the gas, please press the lower part of the brake to release it.  Pressing the gas first will wear out the brake.
  • Blinkers must be turned off manually – they don’t turn off automatically like your car signals.  The blinker arrow will be visible on the side mirrors.
  • When stopping and getting out of the cart, press the top of the brake to engage the parking brake.  You will hear a click when it is engaged.  To release, simply press the lower part of the brake.
  • If the golf cart is used during your stay, you are responsible for refilling the gas tank.  The cart takes regular unleaded gas.  You can either drive the cart to a gas station, or fill using the red gas can located in the garage.  Please refill the can if you use it.  The golf cart gas tank is located under the front seat.  Note:  The digital fuel gauge doesn’t always work – the analog gauge on the dashboard is more accurate.

Configure Cart as 2 Seater or 4 Seater

The cart can be easily configured as a four passenger cart, or as a two passenger cart for golf.  To change the cart from a four seater to a two seater, simply lift the seat back first, flip up the seat and then release the back.  The foot folder also flips up to keep it out of the way during golf.  The video below provides visual instructions.
